Product Features and Applications
Materials and Properties
BK7 glass has high transmittance (visible light transmittance>90%) and low dispersion characteristics, suitable for optical guidance requirements in the visible and near-infrared bands (350-2000nm). Its refractive index is about 1.5168 (wavelength 587.6nm), commonly used in scenes that require high uniformity of light guidance, such as the light guide rod of laser beauty equipment or the spotlight column of stage lights.
Common specifications
Shape: circular, square, square prism, etc., diameter range 1mm to 50mm, length can be customized.
Surface treatment: Anti reflective film (such as 1064nm anti reflective film) can be plated to enhance the transmittance of specific wavelength bands.
Tolerance: High precision machining can reach ± 0.1mm, and some products support no dark spot design.
Typical application scenarios
Laser beauty equipment: As a light guiding crystal for photon rejuvenation and IPL hair removal devices, it needs to be used in conjunction with a sapphire cone to enhance the uniformity of light energy.
Stage lighting: used for spotlight columns, prism beam splitting systems, such as slide projector light guide columns or movie projection equipment.
Industrial testing: As a light guiding element in optical experimental instruments, such as beam splitters or right angle prisms.
Precautions
Coating requirements: If used for specific wavelengths (such as 1064nm laser), coating requirements must be clearly defined to avoid reflection losses.
Alternative materials: Quartz or K9 glass can be used as substitutes in some scenarios, but BK7 has an advantage in balancing cost and performance.
Cleaning and maintenance: Use a soft cleaning cloth and specialized cleaning agent to clean and avoid scratching the surface.
Storage environment: Store in a dry, well ventilated environment to prevent moisture and mold.
Usage: During use, avoid severe vibration and collision to avoid affecting its optical performance.
