Basic characteristics

Material: BK7 is a borosilicate optical glass with high transmittance (about 92% in the visible light band) and low bubble/impurity content.

Optical performance: refractive index of approximately 1.517 (@ 587.6nm), Abbe number of 64.2, suitable for eliminating chromatic aberration.

Mechanical properties: High hardness, scratch resistance, but need to avoid severe impact.

main purpose

Light guiding application: used in LED backlight modules, microscope lighting and other scenes, uniformly transmitting light through the principle of total reflection.

Optical instruments: commonly used as substrates for lenses, prisms, or window panels, especially in low-cost optical systems.

Laser system: suitable for transmission and beam expansion of low-power lasers (note power threshold).

Precautions

Cleaning and maintenance: Use a soft cleaning cloth and specialized cleaning agent to clean and avoid scratching the surface.

Storage environment: Store in a dry, well ventilated environment to prevent moisture and mold.
